BEYOND HUMAN
A reflection on the potential for future human society to establish harmony with non-human entities, going beyond the dominant anthropocentric mindset that regards humans as the exclusive intelligent beings.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
In the visionary exhibition "Beyond Human," a collective of eleven multidisciplinary artists explores the future of Earth, a realm where technology transcends its current role and potentially supplants human activities. This group of creators imagines a world finely tuned to human desires yet profoundly integrated with both technology and the natural environment, fostering a harmonious coexistence across species.
The exhibition offers a dynamic and interactive showcase through a diverse array of mediums. From traditional paintings and crafts to cutting-edge digital art and augmented reality experiences, each piece invites viewers to contemplate the evolving relationship between humanity, technology, and the broader ecological system. "Beyond Human" not only reflects on the potential of technology to reshape our lives and environments but also poses critical questions about the future roles and interdependencies of humans, machines, and nature. Through this immersive and multifaceted artistic exploration, attendees are encouraged to envision a balanced symbiosis where technological advancements and natural ecosystems thrive together, redefining the boundaries of what it means to be human.

LOCATION
"DE PROEF." was envisioned as an "adaptive" garden, a living testament to sustainability, continuously advocating for the preservation of our natural world. Sprawling across a generous expanse of over 7 hectares / 70,000 square meters, the verdant grounds are home to a diverse array of trees, some of which still bear the remnants of their primeval forest origins.
For this exhibition, we have carefully selected a secluded area within DE PROEF., a space untouched by time, preserving the essence of the school's past. In harmony with the exhibition's theme, we have transformed this area into a realm where nature flourishes in the wake of human intervention, where artworks seem to have been left behind, weaving a tapestry of a fantastical utopia.
